Earning customers for life

If you work or spend time in your Orlando, Florida garage during the summer, you want it to be comfortable. During the hottest days of summer, the heat can feel stifling, and most garages aren’t air conditioned. Fortunately, you can keep them cool without wasting a lot of energy or using your central air.

Install a Ductless Mini-Split

A ductless mini-split is installed on the wall of your garage and works separately from your central air. These systems are energy efficient and flow directly from the wall to cool your garage. The door and any windows should be closed. Insulating the garage will further help keep it cool with this system. While the upfront cost is more than some alternative cooling systems, it’s efficient at keeping it cool.

Ventilation and Circulation

By ventilating your garage and circulating air, you can keep it cool without installing an air conditioner. If it doesn’t currently have a ventilation system, you should consider installing one. With all the chemicals, you don’t want those fumes inside of a musty garage combined with the heat. Furthermore, a good ventilation system will help to lower the humidity and reduce the heat. Add circulation by opening windows and using a fan, and you can reduce the heat during the summer.

Use a Window Air Conditioner

Window air conditioners are relatively affordable and easy to install. They are much more efficient than they used to be and you only need to turn it on when you’re in the garage instead of constantly running it. You can take window units out during the winter as well. Window units work well but aren’t designed as efficiently as mini-splits, which are high-efficient, energy-saving systems. You also need to be cautious about getting a window unit that can’t be removed from the outside to protect the unit and your property.
